. . . yep, a domain registration, lcblanton.com, on July 10th, 1999. That is where the "Trunked Radio Information Homepage" would reside for a few more years - at
http://www.lcblanton.com/trunked.htm
At this time, I was the only person managing the site and I was OVERWHELMED with submissions of trunked radio information. I made, at the time, a conscious decision to then focus on ONLY trunked radio information that related to the South East areas of the United States.
We were still managing everything using Microsoft Frontpage and it's server extensions, which at the time was a pretty nice publishing system that allowed us to manage all the static pages and publish them to the Web with relative ease.
Here is what an individual state page looked like.
This is what a trunked system entry looked like back then.
You've really got to love all the color choices that I made 12/13 years ago

The sad thing is that it gets MUCH worse over the next few years.
Now, since I now
had my own domain name, I could now venture into the business of
running my own Web server.... oooh, behold, lcblanton.com (and ultimately trunkedradio.net), all running on the machine on the right in this photo, served up via a notoriously spotty ADSL modem that had upstream bandwidth of 128K!! Yes, folks, that was the server that ran lcblanton.com and ultimately trunkedradio.net for many years. Sigh...
Next post... the birth of trunkedradio.net.... !
