@Blantonl, I hope that I'm not stepping out of line here or on any toes of your guys at Radio Reference but I wanted to let you know that the San Jose Mercury newspaper's website posted a combined audio clip from the 4/15 Boston Police/EMS/Fire Dept. Boston Marathon Explosion radio transmissions onto their website and they did not give proper credit so I sent a nice note to their webmaster referring back to this post and the request that all use be credited back to Broadcastify as request by you.

And thank your for posting these clips because it gives some real insight to what was happening, something that wasn't available watching the news reports on television or hearing on radio.

I second those thanks.These archives show the immediate, professional response of these selfless individuals to run into the danger zone, save lives, and prevent further injury despite any instinct to run and despite mass chaos both on the street and on the air.

I was just as amazed by the video, horrible as it was. Right as the first explosion went off, one of the police on the route, his first reaction as the shockwave hit him barely 50 feet away, as everybody else instinctively flinched, was to put his hand on his weapon, lean into the shockwave, and start running towards it as everybody else fell away from the blast. Boston PD, FD, and EMS all showed their extraordinary courage under fire yesterday, evacuating and treating the victims at extreme risk to themselves.

Perhaps Lindsay or another of the higher ups could answer this but just playing devils advocate, has there ever been an event to make you guys want to consider shutting down a feed or withhold audio after 5 minutes of you guys hearing it for yourself ???. Something like the 9/11 fd tapes were tough but still sounded a lot like a routine multi alarmer but I don't think I could handle hearing someone dying for 5 minutes on an open mike. just curious what rules or procedures you may already have around something like that.
