As a current 396XT user, I'm hoping it will support the following (I know, some of these are a pipe dream):
1. P25 Phase 2 TDMA.
2. Proper tracking and monitoring of P-25 patches.
3. 99 GROUP Quick Keys for a single system.
4. The ability to program P-25 System ID's and WACN's associated with P-25 Control channels, such that it will ignore a control channel unless it sees the proper System ID or WACN.
5. The ability to store 5000 or 10,000 TGID's in a single trunked system. (I live in Colorado where they have a HUGE statewide trunked public safety system with approx. 220 sites)
6. Dynamic "site voting" functionality for a multi-site P-25 system based on RSSI and/or Bit Error Rate.
7. EDACS Provoice (not likely, given that no scanner independently supports Provoice).
8. LTR Passport.
9. Better features for "finding" regular LTR systems and confirming proper LCN order (This one's pretty minor, control channel-only search mode does work pretty well for finding individual LCN's, but I've read that other scanners make it easier.)

I just hope that after the presentation on Saturday morning that there will be no trash talking. Embrace all of the hard work that Uniden has put into their new units and be grateful that we have a new launch of a new portable and mobile unit.

Now THAT`S a feature i could find really nifty, no more locking out sites on multi-site systems `cause the c-channel freqs are the same and it keeps locking onto the wrong one!!! Believe me, right now that`s the biggest pain with my `396XT, if they came out with one that could do NAC`s on P25 trunk systems i`d be there in a heartbeat . N9NRA

What about those? AES-256 is an encryption format while the rest are system formats. You didn't say anything by posting this statement.

I will be happy if it just has a built in GPS for mobile use.

not to go off-topic but I unnerstand Edacs is being phased out, no longer available new, and soon will not be supported.
+1 on P25, which is what Maryland / FIRST is going to (I think)

OK... Actual possibilities: DMR TDMA (TRBO etc...) NXDN maybe... P25 Phase II TDMA, Multisite P25 systems (Properly tracking)... LTR Pass Port, LTR MultiNET, D-Star (for the HAM followers)... Never going to happen but keeps being brought up anyway: iDEN, ProVoice (even though EDACS is going away over next few years), VSELP (for the few systems left), OpenSKY, encryption which only an person who is clueless keeps going on about anyway, please do your homework and stop even bringing it up or the "hacking, cracking, breaking' it as it A: is ILLEGAL, B: Not allowed to become a topic anymore due to the negativity, so there ya go. So please do not get this thread locked due to stupidity of individuals that never seem to get it.
TY in advance.

Is this a live-only thing, or will the YouTube video(s) be available for viewing at my convenience after the event? As much as I'm interested in seeing what's new, I'm not going to arrange my day around a product announcement.

To answer your question, yes. As posted in another thread:

Hey, I thought Uniden had a secret lab with hundreds of computer scientists and acres of Cray supercomputers working 24/7 to break AES Encryption???

I really hope all the hype is worth it.. it would suck if all it did was P25 Phase 2... I am expecting NXDN or Mototrbo at a very minimum.

Shoot, I would be happy with any Uniden scanner that comes out if it could just decode ALL P25 systems all well as the GRE digital scanners perform.
