I'm currently running Windows Vista Business, I'm thinking about trying Windows Server 2008 since I'm currently taking a class in college that requires me to take this class.

I run Mac OS X 10 on the computer that develops this site, with a Vista Premium instance running within Fusion.

I also run XP Sp3 on a separate computer for "radio" related apps sch as trunkPcr, unitrunker etc.

  • Main Laptop is a 2.16Ghz MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5 and 4gb of RAM.
  • Windows Dev Computer is a Dell Poweredge SC430 Server (got it cheaper than a desktop) with a 2.8GHz Processor and 1GB of RAM. It runs Vista Business.
  • Linux Box has a dual-core 64 Bit 3.0GHz Processor, 8gb of RAM, and a terabyte of HDD space. It runs VMware Server, where I can easily run 5-6 VMs at a time. It runs CentOS 5.2.

I 'had' one system running Vista Home Premium, and the rest XP PRO SP3. After reading about the direction Windows 7 was heading in, and the disappointments in Vista SP2, I dumped Vista and now I run XP PRO SP3 exclusively. I wished I would have done it a year ago. A few thing that never worked in Vista are now working again, and the things that did work in Vista are working better in XP!

When and if Microsoft breaks XP so we can no longer run it, I'll probably convert to SuSE Linux.

Always wanted to try smoothwall. Have it in a VMware version - I think...Have a Windows based VOIP PBX that I need to install as well. So much to do, so little time.

  • Using Vmware
  • XP Pirated edition
  • Vista Pirated edition
  • XP Embedded Pirated edition
  • Many part time distros... Puppy, backtrack, UBCD4Win,etc.
  • Router running Linux
