How can you just disable something most modern computers depend on?

I saw that this am on TV and went and disabled mine. Unless I am missing something, all my applications here are unaffected. Weird.

You know what is really weird? When I opened my browser I got a pop-up telling me that my browser Java plugin had been disabled! I'm not sure how that happened because we did not disable it. Maybe it was in a new Windows update, to disable the plugin?? Never had that happen before.

MSM reports that Oracle is working on a Java fix to block it from being hacked. It is supposed to be out in a few days from what I understand.

They use to but not now since all the problems from long ago. I use a Macbook Pro and a iPad with retina display and no problems what's so ever.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (BlackBerry; Opera Mini/7.1.32051/28.3445; U; en) Presto/2.8.119 Version/11.10)

Its Java that is used for browsers, all computers use it on all browsers. The java used on your everyday applications is different then that of the java used for your browser. So your applications arnt affected, just the browsers like safari, mozilla, chrome, etc. The media puts the story out, but doesn't care to clarify it enough for ppl. Supposedly Java will have an update available in a few days.

Good, now if only they'd make using JAVA apps on websites punishable by death, we'll be one step closer to a better internet.

It must not be the cat's meow because some "experts" are still saying if you don't need Java don't put it back yet---Norton sent a blurb that their AV software stops it tho--
