Default Board of Ed

Hey,

While looking in FCC, I noticed some Fairfield County towns, Stratford, Monroe have 450-460mhz listed for Board of Ed. Are they trying to make a countywide BOE system or something?

Thanks,
shawn

Negative on the countywide. No need for it. Most BOE licenses are IG (Industrial/Business Pool) licenses and UHF just happens to be very common and fairly easy to get a license for the shared business freqs. A lot of the freqs are used by transportation (buses), some are school maintenance, some are used by whatever form of security some schools have. Some have repeaters, some don't. Some are even used for the athletics departments to coordinate sporting events.
