What are you trying to hear? Go to the database - the link is right under the logo in the blue toolbar - and follow the pulldowns. Supply the URL. That way folks can give you guidance based on your own needs. I would also modify your location (use the User CP link in the same toolbar) to include your county, so you can have a way of judging what can be heard - and what can't - from your location

I think your missing link is software to program the scanner with to pull the data from radio reference then dump it into your scanner. If you go to this page on the wiki, there are a list of software options. (I know it says PSR-300/400, but your 164 is just a re-labeled, re-cased GRE scanner). All SHOULD have a demo, so you can do a couple programs and reprograms until you get the scanner the way you want and so you can decide which piece of software works best for you

If you get the basic idea of trunking and conventional systems, you should have no problem navigating the interface. I will admit, as someone who two years ago made the jump from programming scanners that had fixed banks of memory to the dynamic structure of new scanners, it may take a second on the trunking side of things to get it programmed properly in banks just because I could never get it right on my PRO-95

Yep its pretty easy after the initial learning curve. I thought it was confusing at first also. My first programmable scanner was in like 1977 the Bearcat with the switches and manual...LOL
