I live in the area and monitor that frequency. Sometimes the signal is good, and some times not so good. I think it depends where they are broadcasting from... I may be totally wrong though

Default Mta-northern division (mncrrpd)

The control point or dispatch center for the MTAPD is in Manhatten, the Connecticut remote sites for the New Haven branch of the pd is located in the following cities:
Devon
Bridgeport
Saugatuck
Stamford
New Haven
Cos Cob
Branchville
Bethel
Seymour
Waterbury
The closer you are to any particular remote site will determine your ability to hear the dispatcher, weather & other factors considered, the cars are more difficult to receive as they are at ground level & proximity to your location is a critical factor in receiving them, especially if they are on their portables.
