The audio is a bit low and difficult to hear. This is an excellent idea to have these feeds. I am just curious as what type of antenna you are using.

Ya I think I need Ground Loop Isolator because I'm getting a major Hum..

I turned the Mic input up some.. I hope that helps.

I'm using a Radio Shack Discone Antenna in my attic on my PRO-95 scanner.

Soon I will get a Ground Loop Isolator and possibly a Pre-Amp on the Antenna.

Thanks for the Input!

I turned up the volume. Norwich Dispatch may be too loud now though. Not sure yet..

Norwich PD overwhelms all other freqs.. I don't even need an Antenna to pick up Norwich PD (39.90) because I'm feet from theirs.

I have three choices when it comes to volume ..

My scanner volume knob, OddcastV3 mic control and Windows Microphone settings. I've been fiddling with them at the same time trying to figure this all out.

I can't wait to get that hum out..

One thing you might try, if you have it as an option on your scanner, is to turn on the attenuator just for the Norwich PD channel. It might be that the signal is overloading your scanner's front end because you are so close. If you can select the ATT on for individual channels, try that and see who it might work. Again you can only do this if your scanner has that option.

Wouldn't the ATT function make me receive less signal though? I mean I would still pick up dispatch with ATT on but not as many cruisers?

Thanks

Low audio and hum fixed by pulling out the headphone jack on the scanner a little bit.

Enjoy the feed folks!

Yes, the Attenuator function will cause you to receive less signal. I have an old Channel Master Monitenna mounted outside with excellent reception. The only problem is now I have some transmitter that keys up for hours and won't stop. There is always some issue with this hobby.

This is great! Thank you for posting this!! Do you think you could also add a scanner for fire/ems in the area? (I.e. Norwich, Ledyard, Groton, etc.)? Thanks!

I think adding EMS would be too much..Besides the tones drive me up a wall lol..

But I do have all the local FD's that I can receive being scanned.

I will make a better list of them and post soon..

33.80
33.96
33.74
33.58
33.84
33.94
154.2050
33.90

If there is any specific Freq. you need want scanned let me know..

Hope this information is helpful....

Montville Fire 159.35250 MHz Repeater

East Lyme Fire 154.0625 MHz Repeater. -- 154.070 may interfere with this too since most older scanners are not narrow-banded.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Norwich Fireground 158.8125 MHz (FG) Low Power

I can hear most low power transmissions on this FG frequency.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Mohegan Sun Fire 33.040 MHz, but I do not listen to them because they talk too much.

Stonington Fire 33.680/155.775 MHz repeater.

North Stonington 33.920 MHz

Here are some UHF fire repeaters. These are great for hearing all mobile units. 453.5375 for 33.820 MHz

453.4625/453.8125 MHz (Both) reapeat 33.800 and 33.900 MHz. 154.740 MHz for 33.440 MHz --- East Lyme Police 154.73250 MHz may cause interference to 154.740 MHz.

453.5875 appears to repeat 33.800, 33.900, 33.880, 33.640 MHz.

453.7875= 33.900 MHz 453.9375= 33.440 MHz

A correction to your list of agencies: 156.12 is Groton City not Groton Town. Seperate police departments. Groton Town operates on 853.400 which I doubt that you will hear from Norwich although you can give it a try. You might also want to plug in 39.86 which is Nowich's channel 2.

I've been considering setting up a feed of Groton fire/ems. If there is interest in it, I will do it.
