Default southwindsor ems new freq

i found southwindsor ems now operating on 457.000 unknown p/l but ill look it up

i think it is 5mhz up from 452.000 which is the trunked system i could only hear the dispatch on 457.000 no units.anyway it might be worth leaving in my scanner

That is the repeater input frequency. You would hear the same traffic on 452.0000 along with the other units that are too weak for you to hear on the input.

you are correct so i guess its no good but i found another interesting freq while searching its 463.650 its a connecticut fire notification freq they let you know when there is a major working fire

Is that just for South Windsor, or for all of CT?

I thought that was pretty much dead. Back years ago you had "Hartford Citywide" radio/pager notification network that covered most of Connecticut. With the advent of text messaging and the internet, most of those buff's groups all but disppeared. The only ones still doing a decent job that I am aware of in the country are the NYC based groups.

New England Citywide ROIP Communications
They have numerous repeaters throughout southern NE. More scanner listeners passing info rather than buffs going to scenes and giving first person reports but it is the only game in town for many areas.
