Default C-MED Regions 1, 4 and 5 Unit ID Help

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to familiarize myself with unit identification in each C-MED region. Finding information on regions 2 and 3 was easy, but regions 1, 4 and 5 have been a different story. Can anyone provide a list or reference page with this information? Example (region 2): 2 = BLS ambulance & Charlie = New Haven AMR. Any help would be much appreciated.

EMS Region 1 is completely covered by Southwest CMED (The Southwestern Regional Communications Center). Check here: East Coast Scanning Resources - View topic - Countywide Frequencies for frequency & unit info.

In S.E. CT:

Medic 1 dispatched by QV on 33.88 out of Day Kimball could also be using Alpha paging or UHF.
Medics 2x's seem to be dispatched by KX Colchester or Valley Shore on 155.40 out of Middlesex unsure of this one though. May also use 46.18.
Medic 11,12,14,15 dispatched by either Waterford or Groton Fire Alarm on 155.3250 out of L&M.
Medic 3x's are dispatched by American Ambulance on 155.22 out of primarily Backus.
Medic 5x's are dispatched by Mohegan Tribal on 33.04 (ie. Mohegan Sun)

where x's = 1 to 9

Most towns have their own ambulances using the town designator followed by 00,02,03
(example G300,G301,G302 are Groton ambulances.

There is no indication of level of care in the unit ID's for Southwest and no way to distinguish between which unit is an ambulance, flycar, special unit, etc, without just knowing. Here's a few examples.

201 = Stamford Medic 1, geographically based unit that could be using whatever ambulance they are assigned (ALS unit)
206 = Stamford Medic 6, ID used for a standby ambulance (special events), could be ALS or BLS
292 = Stamford Medic 92 flycar (Used mostly for Darien intercepts)
403 = Norwalk EMS ambulance 403 (could be ALS or BLS depending on staffing)
705 = AMR supervisor, number assigned to a specific person
7121 = AMR supervisor flycar
7132 = AMR ambulance (could be ALS or BLS)
804 = Stratford EMS ambulance 804 (could be ALS or BLS depending on staffing)
808 = Stratford EMS flycar (usually a medic but could be used by a supervisor)

Default SW Region Info

Stamford EMS runs the following:
200- "901"/24 hour Citywide Duty Captain (supervisor)
201- "Medic 1" 24 hour ALS ambulance
202- "Medic 2" 12 hour day ALS ambulance-off duty at 1830hrs and becomes 292.
203- "Medic 3" 24 hour ALS ambulance
204- "Medic 4" 24 hour ALS ambulance
205- "Medic 5" 12 hour ALS ambulance swing unit M-F.
292- "Medic 92" 12 hour night ALS flycar that primarily responds into Darien and backs up City of Stamford
Other transporting and specialized units are for standbys, events, or MCI use and don't pop up on the air too often.

Most towns have their own ambulances using the town designator followed by 00,02,03
(example G300,G301,G302 are Groton ambulances.
Like Charlie said, most of SE CT (aka new London County mutual aid system) uses the "Bingo" numbering (letter than number). in the 'hundred series" on numbering. Like Charlie said Groton Ambulance is located in Poquonnock Bridge's district so they are a "G-3" entity. Mystic river Ambulance which covers the Mystic and Old Mystic area is located in the Mystic Fire District thus giving them the "G-5" designator. So their ambulances are G-500, G-501, G-502

In Waterford, each fire station has an ambulance plus there is one backup. So they are W-100 (Jordan Co. 1), W-200 (Quaker Hill Co. 2), W-300 (Goshen Co. 3), W-400 (Oswegatchie Co. 4), W-500 (Cohanzie Co. 5) and W-600 (spare and used when there is racing at the Speed Bowl).

New London is the same with A-100 (HQ), A-200 (Station 2) but the spare is A-400.

Confused yet? It took me 5 years working out this way to get it down pat for New London County.

Now for ambulances that are dispatched by QV, TN, WW and some of KX, the numbering system was a station number, usually coinciding with the local fire department but not necessarily, with the unit number first. Griswold Ambulance is in the same fire district as Griswold Fire department. The FD's Station number is 55 for example and ambulance numbers start at "5"s as they are considered Rescues (heavy rescues, light rescue, air units and first responder units are usually 1 through 4). So if Griswold Ambulance has three rigs they would have been Rescue 555, Rescue 655 and Rescue 755. Now I know out that way the numbering and unit designation is changing slightly but I don't know if it would effect the ambulance services.
