Default Anyone upgrade theit 396XT or 996XT with new firmware

I just updated to the 1.11.01 firmware that was released in late December.
I seem to be getting more motor-boating then ever before on CSP.
Anyone else upgrade yet?

My 396XT was updated. I haven't had issues with the CSP anyways.

There has been no recent release of firmware for the BCD996XT as stated in your title. The last firmware update for that scanner was 3/02/2012, and it was version 1.06.00

BCD996XTFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

The BCD396XT was just updated yesterday to version 1.11.01, (1/07/2013)

New 396XT 1.11.01 Firmware Available

Others have reported more problems than previously encountered. I am not seeing much difference on the 396XT but the HP1 showed more improvement. One suggestion was to reset the "hidden" P25 settings to factory default and see if there was improvement.

I have two 396XT's and put the new firmware in one and it was terrible on the CT. SP system. Compared side by side with the same antenna on each radio and it was day and night. I did not change any settings because at this point I figured the update doesn't improve any system that I listen to anyway, so why go through the fuss. But on the Ct. State Police digital system, I was very happy with the improvements that the last update before this one made. So I am staying with 1.10 unless someone can show that 1.11 will help in the Ct. area.

Tom,

I didn't get around to upgrading to 1.10 firmware until about 2 weeks ago, and I think I'll stick with it until I hear more from others.

I use the 396XT at home, but more on the road across CT with not a lot of issues to report.

The new firmware may address a problem I am just not experiencing, so I will wait and see.

By the way, I grew up on Sunset Road! Take care.

Not too far from me at all....
Good choice, I would not upgrade at this point either.
CSP was pretty much UN-usable for me.
And frankly, the radio is excellent at the 1.10 level anyway...
Take care....

You can still download the old firmware and reinstall it
It is on the same web page as the new firmware
