Default Bradley Fire

For some reason I'm hearing the Bradley Fire Dept. on 159.900 as well as on their 453.500 frequency. I don't see the 159.900 on the BDL frequency page here on radio reference... Bradley International Airport (BDL) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Any idea's why they're simulcasted on that frequency? I had that programmed as Winchester's Fire-Ground, but was caught off guard when they started saying "Bradley fire respond to terminal...."

They operate on UHF unless someone somewhere has a patch running...which shouldn't be happening.

How close to the airport are you and what scanner are you using? Some scanner have been known to do goofy things.

It is a patch over to VHF set up by the airport. I believe it was done for the CTANG FD

159.9000 206.5

Windsor Locks is VHF. Maybe it's for interoperability?

The call I heard was for some lady who injured her foot. They said Windsor Locks was notified, but I heard only Bradley Fire officers and dispatch talking. I live about 6.5 miles from the airport, so I guess it could just be interference. I have a RS Pro-164 with a pretty good external VHF antenna. Any confirmations on the "patch over to VHF set up by the airport" theory?

It's definitely a patch.

Guys, from what I have been told, this is something that Keith Victor setup with his "Alarm Room" services (which I am not sure what that does).

The freq comes back to his license in the industrial/business pool and not the public safety pool. License of WPHB880.

For those who have submitted this as a BDL channel, I am putting a hold on this as it appears that it is not a BDL channel. If the Air Guard needed a VHF channel they would have had it assigned to them under NITA in the federal band and not in the general specturm (under most circumstances).

Central190,

I had to re-read this a few times with my grandfather's glasses. (He is asleep) Still, I really wish I knew what the heck you were talking about.

What's your point? Plain English Please?

I am saying they moved the tower and they also changed frequencies many.years ago and they needed a link from.the troop w dispatch to the tower instead of using phone lines.
