Default Numerous Radio Shacks in CT Robbed recently

Well, knew they'd be going for the IPhones (although those can be found really quick) Wondering if the other equipment was scanners? Just glad nobody has been hurt in any of these

Police: 3 masked men robbed Radio Shack at gunpoint in Wallingford- The New Haven Register - Serving New Haven, Connecticut

I heard second hand that the gentlemen were merely upset because RS was no longer going to honor their "Battery Club" cards, which were fully punched, so they headed straight for the D Cells and apparently cleaned house. The customers were only wearing ski masks because it was really cold in the store, since store managers aren't allowed to turn on the heat until they sell a certain number of over-priced extended warranties.

I've got to do more checking on this however.

I find it ironic that the East haven store had no subservience cameras in the store or operating yet they sell that equipment.

When I worked at RS in all of our meeting and training events they heavily pushed that the biggest losses in the company were due to internal theft. The store I started working in had an inventory where they were 26k in the hole and there were numerous phones missing. Corporate came in and fired everyone and I was one of the fresh hires. Worked my way to shift leader. We hired a guy shortly before I left and we started noticing discrepancies in our nightly deposits. We ran it up the chain of command and turns out the new guy we had just hired had been taking the money as well as 10-15 Iphone 5's. Our store never had security cameras just an alarm. We did setup cameras but they only record sometimes its really crappy equipment. That company isn't going to be around in 20 years if they keep policies the way they are.

Recently someone waled into our local Radio Shack and walked out with a Uniden handheld (not sure which model but pretty certain it wasnt digital which this area requires) The staff say they know how it is and even let him come in and talk about antennas.

Unless store policy here has changed, just after Christmas of 2012 the stores around here were selling just a couple different models of both Uniden and Radio Shack models. The R.S models had more exposure but non the less.....they were selling scanners.
Well....let me be a bit more clear, they had them on display. I have no idea how many were being sold, if any and I didn't want to ask. The salesperson I was dealing with was struggling enough with some simple questions I was asking him!

Yeah I agree, RS has turned into an overpriced electronics garbage dump over the years. I'm 100% done buying anything from them....It's a good thing they went for the batteries, cause I doubt they would have found anything in the register to take.

i saw a news article on yahoo a few months ago and they listed i believe 10 or 20 business that will possibly will be going out of business in the next 2 years and best buy was one and radio shack was another and i thought saw kmart also, radio shack used to be an great store back in the 80's,they sold scanners right out of the store, which back they there were no digital and truck tracking units, they had maybe a couple of handheld models and a couple of base models to choose from ,they also sole stero systems and other stuff you have to order through the web,I used to buy from the store in the naugatuck valley mall in waterbury which been demolished and walmart and stop and shop are now located, those were the days, now they are horrible-they put a scanner on sale for 419 and they dont have any in stock..

Unfortunately this is not the same RS that we all grew up with unfortunately. when we needed parts for broken stuff we went there, now all they care about is cell phones and computers (if that).
