The ones I heard at Christmas time were echo 1,2 fox trot 1,2 hotel 1,2 golf 1,2 oscar 1,2
The radio id for the dispatch console is 1284. Where as the ones at police headquarters are 8001, 8002,
It seems like they don't use this channel all the time just the time I mentioned and they again when you herd them

I have not heard anything on 34,70 or 100 either my scanner is on search so id know when a new id pops up. 100 is assigned to citywide operations according to the old list and they did test it when the new system came on,but I don't know what they would use this channel for ,im thinking a big incident such as a hurricane.time will tell I guess

Today 5-21-14- a new id popped up it's id 125 and it was the police using it,it seems to be a surveillance channel due to all the activity about a target going into a building and asking about warrants,I submitted it to the data base as surveillance unless I find out different. As far as other radio ids ID 100 (citywide) 101 (events) been very active during city functions such as the parade this past weekend.these 2 channels were used so the police and fire departments and the parks dept, and the street dept can communicate with each other during these type of outdoor functions that are often held at library park.

Update: another channel popped up which is ID 123 and is another surveillance channel apparently and it's showing encrypted.

Radio service doing testing on id 123 today unencrypted which was being used as a surveillance channel on Wednesday which was encrypted for a short time, which means the Waterbury police have the ability to turn on and off encryption on their radios which that have not used encryption that I know of on dispatch 1 and 2 and and any other channels

Encryption on the field radios can be manually selected, or depending on use, may be channel slaved to clear only or encrypted only. Unless someone has access to a field radio, no one can know for sure.

Thanks for the info PJH I think I understand what your saying, the thing is Waterbury police officers are assigned their own portable radio when they get hired on the force which has a number that shows up on the uniden 996 and 396 xt's if you have it set up that way. When they were on ID 125 they were in the clear and later on they were on 123 which was encrypted, but then the next day it was in the clear,so it makes me believe that certain radios for surveillance and other groups (swat, narcotics, bomb. Etc) may have the ability to switch to encryption or have a two channels for each id which one would be encrypted and one unencrypted .i am going to look Into this and ask one of the officers what exactly how Waterbury radios are set up.

On sat August 24th I submitted 3 additional freqs to the Waterbury system which now is 9 freqs used, and been posted ,I don't know why they were not there but found they were not there when a friend let me know about it.now whoever used the database to program the system can update it and now hear Waterbury better.

Unless they were control channels, you will not hear them any better. The P25 systems are control channel only for trunktracking. The older scanners needed all the channels entered but the newer ones do P25 as CC only.

They are. My scanner stopped receiving but as soon as I entered the other 3 frequencies it started transmitting immediately.

That would likely be bad information. Waterbury is not licensed on it, but CSP is.
