I will be visiting Foxwoods in the near future. I usually bring my scanner and monitor when in the room. I listen to Foxwoods security as well as state pd. I have troops d and e programmed into my scanner. I can't seem to find the tribal police though. which system do they operate on? Foxwoods or state pd? any help would be appreciated..thanx

I work there. MPPD cannot be listened too. They are on a Passport system that cannot be tracked.

Does that mean they cannot be monitored or tracked? Can't you still scan all the channels conventionally and hit scan to try to follow a conversation? Or are you saying that you cannot even listen to the individual channels?

You can monitor the frequencies, but you won't hear anything

Last time I monitored was several years ago but then it was a mix of LTR and Passport. You couldn't trunktrack with a single scanner but using two scanners and LTRTrunk would work. Trying to monitor by scanning with no delay works but the other users have much more airtime and are more plentiful than the tribal safety departments.

What I meant by "you won't hear anything" is there are so many talk groups that they all step on each other. You're not going to be able to follow the conversation. The Tribal Police have minimal radio traffic, Fire is on a non-trunked system, as well as a talk group on the system, so you end up hearing buses, greeters, the floor, security, house keeping, maintenance, catering and everyone else on the system.

If you want to hear Tribal Fire, listen to 33.8400, PL 179.9 or 453.01250 (x-band of 33.84)

MPFD uses two systems. Dispatch is on 33.84 and only the trucks and county portables are in operation on that frequency. We are very limited on that frequency and it does not cross band to our UHF LTR system. when dispatch gives us a call, they broadcast over both frequencies, they are not connected to "repeat" each other.

We also operate on the LTR UHF trunked system for our normal operations on the reservation (calls, service runs, normal administration comms). All our personal identified portables are UHF which are programmed with LTR system groups assigned to us, backup system, STOCS, our truck x-Band repeaters on both engines, the tower ladder and HazMat, and also a few mutual aid agencies that have UHF systems / repeaters.

Any call on the reservation or gaming complex (casinos and hotels) we sign on the rigs on 33.84 and all two way is through the trunked system. When we go off site to Ledyard, N. Stonington, ect we sign on with Station PQ over 33.84 then switch over to the mutual aid town's low band frequency and sign on responding with them. When We get on scene, we switch on the x-band repeater and our portables over to the UHF channel on them.

And as for asking me to post the other talk groups on the LTR system, I simply cannot at this time. Also this system works for us, we have a lot of wiggle room when operating on the radio, especially if mutual aid comes into our response area when necessary.

Also there have been talks we will be going over to a digital system as part of our upgrade, however nothing has been done as of yet. I know the dispatch center was recently upgraded.
