2010 ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes
Hey, Western Massachusetts Amateur Radio Operators! Come join us for the 2010 ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes
Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM EST
Then again on:
Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 10:59 PM EST
It has been close to 10 years since a serious effort has been put into the ARRL January Sweeps. League officials have asked for activities that include Technicians. This contest is ideal for Technicians and we would like to promote the contest throughout the Pioneer Valley.
A great event for some January VHF & Fun! Come join with other Technicians, Generals or Extras Class Hams operating from their home, in their vehicle (mobile), on their HT (portable) or as rover stations (moving point to point as part of the January VHF Sweepstakes).
Please help to revive a Pioneer Valley tradition. Simply collect & log QSO's, remember to include the different grid scores (EG: Fox November 32) Work hill toppers, stations down the street, event stations and even the guy you talk with every day on the air.
The bands used in the 2010 ARRL January VHF Sweepstake bands include:
50 MHz, 144 MHz, 222 MHz, 432 MHz, 902 MHz and 1296 MHz. Tune up and down these bands, some one will be listening for you. If you belong to any Ham groups, you may want to alert members or what frequencies you may be “parked” on to help people find you, and get point for them.
If you have any questions regarding this event as it applies to the Pioneer Valley, please contact Tom-N1MUV at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ARRL encourages Technician class licensees to participate in the January VHF Sweepstakes and veteran operators are encouraged to support the event.
