Default Illinois StarCom21

Hello all. There used to be a section under the site listings for StarCom21 of all the control channels in the state. I found this very useful, as I travel alot and prefer not to have to program individual sites. Some time ago, it was removed from the database. Is there a way this "all control channel" listing could be brought back into the database?

Thanks!
Adam

Default Starcom 21

You mean like the listing found here?
Scanner Frequencies: * StarCom21 Statewide Illinois P25 Trunking System, Statewide, Illinois

Looks like they are rebanding so perhaps it was down while they updated it?

Les

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it was removed since it technically wasn't a site so it didn't belong in the database as a site.

Such a list could be brought back in a Wiki format that would allow the users to copy and paste the list into their respective programming software. With rebanding, that old list would be out of date anyway. Someone could start by copying the control channels from the Carma profile which has control channels listed in a different field into a single list and remove duplicates. If it's posted on a wiki page, Terry, I or any user can update that list as new control channels are added or more sites are rebanded.

Thanks for the heads-up on the CARMA profile. I still think a wiki page for this on RR would be a good thing, especially because it can be updated by local site listeners as soon as a change is noted. Or maybe I'm the only one who has their scanner set up this way (I have the Zone 1, 2, and 3 control channels and TG's programmed in 3 separate systems).

Great idea on the zone format. We could make a list of dispatch talkgroups per zone (ex. ISP dispatch, ISP car-car, county shf disp, city dispatch, etc.)--basically the talkgroups that someone traveling through the area would be interested in.

I like the idea of a list including the area ISP TG's and such.

Just for illustration, I have my scanner configured with 3 systems corresponding to the ISP's Zone 1, 2, and 3, each with a quick-key assigned the same as the ISP zone number. All the control channels for that zone are in the system, and one group in each system is assigned to all the ISP districts in the zone (which includes dispatch, detail, ispern, ireach, and car-car tg's), a group assigned to statewide tg's (like ileas, mabas, ittf, and idph), a group for county governments, and a group for utilities known to be in the area (Ameren, cilco etc).

For areas that I travel to a lot, I have assigned a separate group for the the ISP district in that area.

As for the control channels I originally asked about, I have started manually entering them into the appropriate systems in the scanner, and I will reband them manually as updates are posted to the SC21 database. As I update things, I'll keep a list for later use in a wiki.
