Just checking to see if there is a status on when this will be added to the RR DB. Thanks.

What do you want add to the RR DB? Sorry for asking. I just finished reading your thread and I agree with you federal should be under the state rather than in every county.

I hate going county by county writting down federal frequencies. I hope they put a federal list by state only.

I hear ya...

the last time I asked about this, the answer was go to the Wiki. I hate the Wiki page. If the answer to everything else, then why have a database? Just have a redirect to the Wiki when you click on the map.

I know it won't be easy to do and there are probably plenty of other things they need to work out as well...but apparently there are more people then just me that would find it useful. To me, it seems like they (admins) will address first post and let it fall to the bottom of the page in hope that I will forget about it.

I'm not trying to jerk about it and yeah, I guess if I don't like it I can fo somewhere else or make it myself. But I do donate every year even though I don't use a lot of the pay features. I do think I contribute some, maybe not as much as others, but I do when I can.

Thumbs up

I support each state having a page for the federal frequencies in that state. I also support a page in the database that is dedicated to federal frequencies that are used nationwide.

I don't know...I don't have his itinerary or access to his planner. I just don't this to go to the bottom of the page and eventually be forgotten.

Not saying it needs to be done now...only an answer yes, no, and/or we'll work on it once other planned projects are completed (and not forgotten).

Well, I too think that something can be done about the federal pages. I wish they would at least be statewide. As it is, looking at my RR homepage, I "watch" 3 counties' federal pages, and they all say "Federal." As it is, I have to remember which is which when I see changes. I'm not a fan of this...

But, as you mentioned you can change it now. I used to not like wiki pages either- but found they make a great resource for making custom pages. It's rather easy. I organized a 37 county TRS by county, then split up each county by sites and agencies. Now it's easy to see which sites and agencies are in any county I might be travelling through. I'm just saying a quick fix could be made if people would take it upon themselves to make a wiki page or two (the whole point of the Collaboration).

Make you a deal- if you make your state's page, I'll make one for Texas. Maybe that is an effort that others would like to get behind...? I know some other fed heads in here could do it also...

ericcarlson is who you need to persuade. He's who is lead over the database and determines what the DB admin can or can't do. Basically my equivalent for the database.

There's nothing in place now that doesn't stop a DB admin from creating a link off the State page. California already has one. The admin just need to find the time to do it and/or migrate the data. They may not read this forum. For something on the main database page would be between Eric and Lindsay. And I wouldn't bother Lindsay right now because of other stuff in progress.

Just like CAP(Civil Air Patrol aka Federal) hiding in county pages in some states!

US > California > Los Angeles (County) [Los Angeles] > Aviation
Aviation Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

vs the state level page.

US > California > Civil Air Patrol
Civil Air Patrol Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Lets not look at the TAGS on Civil Air Patrol repeaters in the database
I see these TAGS "Military","Federal", "Aircraft", "Emergency Ops"

But the above should be cleaned up soon. Once I get in touch with Eric....

Sounds good but that's not going to help anyone else that needs the info in other states. It also won't help if someone needs to download the info from the DB using software to access it.

I just find it a little disappointing that no one that has anything to do with approving or taking action with this can't even answer if this would be possible or not. If you are not even going to entertain the idea, close the thread.
