I suppose it could regularly alternate (my town's old trunked system used to switch every night) between the four listed alternates.

I stole it man.

Just like Ibagli mentioned, my county and a neighboring county similarly have trunked systems that rotate CCs at least once a day between 4 different CCs.

But to answer your specific question, I'm not sure a red primary CC was ever listed. If you look at the "history" you'll see that nothhing has been done with that system for some time, and when something was done it wasn't a modification of the frequencies.

Any chance that it never had a primary control channel designated?

Mike

Hey man, like, give it back.

It's certainly possible; I actually did look at the history and noticed the same thing. I wanted to program a quick control-channel-only for Geauga by hand, and that's when I noticed there was no red CC listed.

Haha. Well, looks like it's time for you to play a little Russian roulette with the freqs. It's probably one of the list blue ones, but ya never know.

The system will automatically roll the control channel at midnight so you will need to enter all four control channels for CC only scanning.

This is the default behavior for Motorola Smartnet systems. On Smartzone systems the default is to only change control channels when a problem is detected or when manually commanded to.
