I'm looking for the correct frequencies for RPSO. I think RPSO has moved to the 700's?. I have no problems programing my BCD996XT for other parishes near me from the database..Natchitoches, Vernon, Grant, Sabine and Winn. I need to hear RPSO units and dispatch. Thanks for any help

Thanks LJ, my scanner is a BCD996XT digital that does P25 trunking..I can get all the above and the State Police which is on the 700 P25 trunking system but there is no 700's for RPSO in the database, unless i'm missing something. I use ARCXT Butel to load my scanner from RR database. What i want is the RPSO units and dispatch in Alexandria...Re-Elect Chuck Wagner for Sheriff.
BTW the 800's in the database for Rapides RPSO does not work any longer, thanks for the help

Put in a wildcard on Rapides com district trunking and LWIN both and listen for a while. Many of the parishes that have their own systems are still migrating to LWIN.
I thought I had heard RPSO a couple of weeks back when I was down there. I am out of range to check from here for you and do not forsee being down there any time soon. I had my wife with me and she does not want me to monitor radios then, but she stays up half the night listening to locals go figgure. Ever since my son moved to Stonewall and went to work at Caddo we always go north not down there.

BTW I had not noticed where this thread is, I had linked to it from new posts. You may have had more help if it had been posted in Louisiana. A mod may well comment about location and move it there.

Maybe so but i thought the database discussion forum would get more attention since the database for RPSO is incorrect. thanks for the help and advice...My nephew is a RPSO Dep so i'll find out from him what frequencies they are on, if he knows.

The RPSO frequencies in the database are active because I monitored them today. The trs doesn't have a dedicated control channel, it changes to a different frequency almost every day. I use win500 and Butel ARC Patrol and the frequencies won't download off the RR database. I had to manually put them in.

I do not use the Bearcat ARC software but if it is like my version of ARC you can add manually with software. That with my scanner is the easiest route to enter data.
If your ARC version is like mine bring up your trunk system tab and double click where it says frequency on Rapides Parish System line. Here is list of what is in mine for Rapides:

855.712500
855.962500
856.712500
856.937500
857.712500
857.937500
858.262500
858.712500
858.937500
859.262500
859.712500
859.937500
860.262500
860.712500
860.937500

You may have success with copy and paste from my list or data base one at a time or copy my entire table from here and paste it to your software. I just made the entire table at once work for me here a lot easier than keying in data to software or scanner. If you use my table check the database to be sure something has not been added since I downloaded it to my ARC.

I think you may have made an error with your import tab also when you tried to do Rapides. Go back and try it for Rapides Parish push the trunk button and select the dropdown for the correct trunk system. Then check the box at top of frequency listing to select all and either all or select individual talk groups as you want. That may be your best path to take as you may need to learn what you did wrong for future use of downloads. It took me a couple of tries to get things right the first time I used the software for a trunking system also.

Thanks LJ, those are the same frequencies i have in my scanner and i am doing the import tab correct but i have not heard RPSO yet..I'll keep working with it and maybe i'll find the problem one day. I don't give up easy, i've been trying with this scanner for almost 2 years. No problem with the other parishes near me. Happy 4th, be careful.

Confirm you have system type correct. I am showing motorola 800/900 but can not gurantee I am right as I can not test it where I am now. I have the same for Caddo system so it must be correct.

Maybe that is your problem. You may also check that you at least have some of the main groups correct. I do not show a wildcard group on Rapides but have them for Cleco and Entergy and they work on the same type system.

I hate to say this but it looks like mines been kicked here. I have two suggestions delete the entire system and try to reimport it from database. If you still have problems then try to find someone locally that has it working on a Bearcat. I have RS scanners here and it was 4 or 5 generations back when I had Bearcat analog only.
