Any reason some P25 Systems are in the DB as
Motorola X2-TDMA
Noticed it while looking at Dallas County Tx.

As opposed to Project 25 Phase II
A few of those Systems don't include any TDMA TGs anyway.

I don't get it either. AFAIK, X2-TDMA and P25 Phase II are synonymous, or close enough as to make no difference to a scanner.

Essentially Motorola implemented their own proprietary TDMA mode prior to the specifications for Phase II being finalized. A number of agencies purchased these systems at first and upgraded them to Phase II once that became an option. From the looks of it, not all systems did that.

X2-TDMA is not the same as Phase II. It just so happens that all the Phase II scanners can also support X2-TDMA, making it a whole lot easier for the end user.
