Question DE TRS System

Okay I have a few questions about talkgroups and frequencies and trunking sites.

1. One my PSR-500, I have KN-CMD (2320) programmed under only the Kent County site. Is KN-CMD (2320) repeated on the NCC Site?

2. I usually hear WPD units on WILCOM ask eachother to go to TAC-C. Whenever I switch over to TAC-C on my scanner, I don't hear anything. Is it some sort of simplex channel or what? I have the TG ID# as 27856. Is that the correct TG ID#?

3. I see that there are 2 other IR sites in NCC, in addition to the main NCC site, Winterthur and Hockessin. I know where Hockessin is but where is the Winterthur IR site located? What units have been heard using the Winterthur and Hockessin sites?

4. Are TALK 1 and TALK 2 used much? Are they simplex channels or repeated channels?

That's All
Thanks.

Negative

2. I usually hear WPD units on WILCOM ask eachother to go to TAC-C. Whenever I switch over to TAC-C on my scanner, I don't hear anything. Is it some sort of simplex channel or what? I have the TG ID# as 27856. Is that the correct TG ID#?

It's full time encrypted

3. I see that there are 2 other IR sites in NCC, in addition to the main NCC site, Winterthur and Hockessin. I know where Hockessin is but where is the Winterthur IR site located? What units have been heard using the Winterthur and Hockessin sites?

This is where Winterthur is Located http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?cs=WPWM309
Looks like they use another cc for NCC

4. Are TALK 1 and TALK 2 used much? Are they simplex channels or repeated channels?

For Sussex and Kent used for Fire Ground Operations can't speak for NCC also used when trs goes down

That's All
Thanks.
Hope this helps

Actually, Kent Command is repeated on the NCC system full time.

Regarding Talk, They are simplex only.
Seldom used but have been heard up here with non business talk.

Thanks Dave for clearing that up I checked my scanner last night and I don't have the tg in for NCC so when I am up that way that's why I never hear it.

I find it interesting that NCC patches Kent F/T but Kent does not patch NCC.

Hey DE folks, thanks for this thread.

How about this scenario?

Gonna pass through (I-95) on the 26th and return on the 29th to/from Philly. For the 20 miles of travel, it appears the Winterthur site is all I need with a Wildcard in a PSR-500 and 600.

Also, the Wilmington system controls and a Wildcard since it too will be for near the same distance.

Or should I use select TG's for both systems?

Thanks,

Proably I would use the talkgroups, due to the fact of to much radio traffic w/the wildcard.Mike

Hello,
Just use the main system. It covers I95. The Wthr site is a really focused system for that general recreation area.

You should only need the DSP command, data and TAC groups. The TMC group(s) can be a great help as to traffic conditions. Pick the FD groups at your leisure.

If you will be taking I495 around Wilmington I would not worry about that system as they do not patrol the interstate to my knowledge. This system has a very small RX footprint.

Once you get to PA PSP VHF system, 155.505 / .850 to the airport then 155.670 / .910 (Base/Mobile) + 155.460 car-car.

Thanks guys.

Dave, those PA freqs will be very useful.

Is 495 best route to I-95 exit 8 in Philly? Streets & Maps and Garmin both route me that direction.

Either 95 or 495 will work.

Don't forget to use 896 and Elkton Rd. to go around the DE/MD line toll.

As previously mentioned, WPD Channel/TAC C is Full Time Encrypted. Thats whats wrong with you scanner. It doesn't or can't monitor encrypted communications. If you want to monitor Channel/TAC C, you will need the real /\/\otorola radio.
