Default Bridge authority talkgroups low volume?

I just came back from the Turkey day drive up to NJ (7 hours) and coming back (4). While on the road I had my 396 programmed with the Bridge authority, some DSP and Newcastle talkgroups. The authority's talkgroups were almost universally very low in volume, while the others were quite normal. Are they running narrowband or are they typically set low?

And what AGC settings seem to work best in that area? I need to play with mine a bit, as it seemed the differences were at least in part, caused by the digital AGC settings not being as good as they should be. 73 Mike

Hello,
I believe that was the AGC doing it's thing. On the older digital radios (250/785/796/296) they were alway just on the edge of overmodulation.

Hmm, then a little adjustment to the digital AGC settings is in order. What are your settings, Dave? I figured I'd ask a local, as they're likely to have the right answers :.>>
