Up in PA, I copied comms on the following:

USCG security patrols on marine channel 83A
CBP ops on Net 1 (165.2375) and 169.550 (both mostly clear)
USSS ops (clear and enc) on Baker, Charlie, and Pappa

I was at the Norwood train station to try to get some pictures of the event.

I can only assume at some point the president will be making a stop near Seattle or in Seattle.

1.Would the communications be in the clear, likely not, right?
2. Would the security detail be using p25 or analog?

USSS most likely P25 mainly encrypted sometimes alot of the traffic on Charlie is in the clear. The county I live the police/LE use a countywide interop channel for the motorcade and security detail and it's analog non encrypted.

It has been my experience that when USSS is dealing with the POTUS, most (maybe 90-100%) of their comms are encrypted. For whatever reason, when they handle anyone else (even the PEOTUS) there is often a fair amount of clear traffic. I have only encountered digital on USSS freqs for a while now.

Default Mark!

Well, I caught radio traffic on AAR 54/54, WPD Tacs I & F; N-EMSOP2; USSS Charlie, Baker, Papa; Amtrak PD Wilmington RPTR; WFD Fire C, and some other things.

Just comparing.
