Default BCD396T Fire Tone Out

I have a 396 that I absolutely love. I had a 250D and this thing is so advanced. It's actually easier to use.

I am a volunteer with station 11. I have input the tone info using the ARC396Pro software.

I cannot get it to work.

My data is as follows for all four tone outs:
33.78 (Frequency) Auto (Mode) 1 (ATT Delay) 7320 (Tone A) 3992 (Tone B), I have not input a duration.

The other Tone A's I have input are all 7320, the Tone B's - 4353, 4748 and 5178.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

No duration is needed now. Uniden released a firmware update for the 396 a while back that addressed that problem. Have you updated the firmware of your 396? If not, it can be done by downloading the new firmware at Uniden's web site.

Hello,

Make sure you have updated the 396's Firmware to V1.09.00. This is neccessary for FTO to so you can monitor 10 FTO's at a time. The tones for Station 11 are as follows:

732.0 Tone A 399.2 Tone B Fire (NOT 7320-3992)
732.0 Tone A 435.3 Tone B Ambulance (NOT 7320-4353)

The newest firmware does not require programming gap times. The 396 will handle the timing. Also, when you program the Frequency for FTO monitoring, make sure you set the MODE to FM. 33.7800 MHz is the FTO frequency, and the MODE should be set to FM, not AUTO. FTO will not work in NFM Mode.

I changed the tone info manually. The ARC 396 software for some reason would not let me enter decimal points.

Now... for some alarms.

Hello,

FYI, FTO works using 453.3000 MHz as the FTO Frequency. No issues.

Default Fto

I have my BCD 396 work on Fire Tone Out. I receive the warbling alaert that I have selected. However, it continues to scan in the FTO mode. Is this how it is designed? Do I need to modify the programming for the delay so I may hear the actual audio portion of the alarm? I have the Delay Time set to the "OFF" position. Would changing this to the "INFINITE" position "open" up the radio?

Default FTO Issue - Delay

I found my answer in the FTO thread. I should have looked there first.

Hello,

Yes, set the Delay to INFINITE due to the time it takes before the announcement. Some announcements take longer than 5 seconds after FTO. You can turn the Scroll Knob to resume FTO Standby Mode after the announcement.
