Bethany Beach Home patrol problems

I don't seem to be able to monitor bethany beach police/fire on my home patrol. I plug in town name and it does not load digital for bethany. i have had this occur also for Dewey and Rehoboth. Any suggestions?

Bethany beach work off the state system there own channels are for chit chat police channel is very active in summer time

Thanks. I a new to this. How do i program the home patrol? Do i choose the town by name or do i use the county?

I would use county

You will want to enter all of the Sussex County fire and EMS Talk groups as well. That stuff isn't broken down by town. You will want to make sure you got the Bethany Beach Station 70 company channel. Also, make sure you enter the Rehoboth Beach fire and EMS talk groups. Rehoboth isn't dispatched by Sussex County EOC.

Thanks for your help sorry for the follow up but i am confused. Can you be very soecific on how to get both police and fire for Bethany. Is the procedure the sme for Dewey and Rehoboth?

As mentioned before you want to put in Rehoboth as they are self dispatched as is Seaford bethany pd is dispatched through suscom as 912 units

Enter the zipcode. then select services. Make sure you have Dispatch, Tac and Talk for each of the following: Law, Fire, EMS.

When the radio is scanning see if it pauses on "State Of Delaware Public Safety" system for a couple of seconds and press it to hold on just the DE state system.

That should do it. I believe you should get ok reception from Bethany with the stock antenna.

The signal strength indicator is to the left of the battery icon. You want to have at least 2 bars. You might have to play with antenna placement a bit to get good reception.
