I hope so. It would have to come directly from Dispatcher Console.

On another note, DSP was looking for a Shooting Suspect from MD this week that crashed after a pursuit on Old Baltimore Pike and 896. They used SW-PMA and N-PMA, in the CLEAR. I wonder why? Maybe they were looking for some assistance? Some units without encryption capability? Usually, the PMA TGs are encrypted.

To be clear, I am not against encryption. It has it's place, just not on routine dispatches.
Probably because Cecil County Sheriff was assisting, and if DSP was encrypted and trying to talk with them Cecil probably wouldn't hear them, probably similar to the DC incident where MPD was encrpyted and one of the helo's couldn't talk with them because of encryption.

Rebanding was ongoing all week long. Everything should be switched over by the end of this week. FireOPS and EMS OPS are apparently staying as is for now.

If only there was something that we in the scanning community could do to reverse this trend.
Strong possibility.
We have 4 communities so far in Southeast Michigan that have gone encrypted, and flat out said right in the media that the reason they are doing it is because people are listening in on their smartphones..

Default Another One Bites the Dust!

Hello,

The University of Delaware has decided to use Encryption on their dispatch. Looks like LE unencrypted Dispatch in the State of Delaware is at an end. Not much LE Dispatch in the State to monitor.
