Default PC-ALE new page

For those that are interested - I just got this today...
=============================================
I came across some comments by you regarding PC-ALE and Vista made some time back and I wanted to update you that since then the Vista issue has been solved.

Also, I am announcing that a new open web page at PC-ALE file support site now exists to replace the old http://www.chbrain.dircon.co.uk/pcale.html as the direct download site of PC-ALE from the authors as the responsibility for updating the program and distributing the PC-ALE software and documentation
has passed from Charles Brain to me.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

/s/ Steve Hajducek, N2CKH

Default C-ale & vista

Hi,

I have downloaded Build# 5 of PC-ALE into my HP Laptop running Vista and no-go.
Cannot get sound out of the Laptop speakers for the life of me.
Speakers run fine, all drivers up to date, the Software scans the frequencies I input
but no sound.
The output levels stay at zero and return to zero if you adjust the level. Control of the
input levels seems to still be a bug---too bad.
Anyone hear of a fix or workaround ?

Thanks,

Mary

I would ask on the hflink Yahoo group given in the website. Also it appears you are 1 build behind - build 6 is listed as current. 73 Mike

I have found the ALE to be picky about sounds cards. Are you getting audio in? Does the sound display in ALE show any audio from the radio? What if you plug in a normal mic to the line in. Can you see your voice on the display? IS your audio out issues audio into the radio or audio out from the card. Plug a speaker in, can you hear anything?

I have an issue where I can recevie sound but not send it until I go into the soundcard setup, switch to another sound card then immediately switch back to the original sound card and then everything works.

Smile PC-ALE Problems

Hi,

I do get audio response from signals in the ALE screen. I received strong ALE warbles but nothing is
decoded. I read that the Build 6 is a Beta Test version only so I went with 5.
I do not have a MIC to plug in to test the soundcard. I just think it's a compatability issue.
I am going to dump Vista and get XP. That should handle it.

Regards,

Mary
