Default Possible to use a Digital Recorder as a VLF Rcvr?

Title says it all really....I have the sound card nailed down...but what about mobile? when draging your laptop along isnt really possible?

For example I have a Zoom H2 Recorder, and assumeing it works the same way a sound card does, but you just dont have the ability to select "frequncey" .....just yet anyways.

I havent really played around with it just yet because Im scared of overloading it, and need to use the right antenna, but wouldnt you just record a set amount of time, then open it up in an editor Like Adobe Audition, or a waterfall display like WinRad, or Spectran???

Point is getting away from "man made noise" for those who dont have the knowlage of building from scratch. Because even a laptop running on a battery creates alot of noise and would only last 2 to 4hrs long.

There are people doing just that, but you're going to have to learn enough to do SOME building. You don't just stick a piece of wire in the mic jack and start recording. You'll need some sort of front end on the thing. Google it. The information you seek is out there.

Hey Ernie, good job but you may have to change your name to LongwaveWave if you keep it up.

There is all kinds of cool stuff down "in the basement" of the spectrum.
