So with the CNE in full swing;

Has anyone had any luck nailing down any other talkgroups on their system?

Just a recap, here's what I've been able to put together from various posts here and other places:

01-065 - Trades 2
01-070 - Trades 1
01-079
01-080 - Custodial/Grounds Maintenance
01-090 - Direct Energy Center Security
01-109
01-130 - BMO Ushers/Gates
01-184
05-005 - Direct Energy Center Security (sounds like their full-time guys)
05-055 - CNE Security/Control
05-075 - CNE Technical Services
05-085 - Parking
05-086
05-105
05-125 - BMO Channel 3
05-128
05-135 - Direct Energy Building
09-170 - Horse Palace

Can anyone add/correct from this at all? I'm not having a heck of a lot of luck :/

Any updated word on the airshow? I checked out their web site, but, not much their in the way of performers, f18, f16, snowbirds, and a few acrobatic teams.

Here's an update with all the talkgroups I've confirmed as CNE so far:

On the CNE LTR system;
0-01-065 - Trades 2
0-01-070 - Trades 1
0-01-079
0-01-080 - Custodial/Grounds Maintenance
0-01-090 - DEC Security
0-01-109
0-01-130 - BMO Ushers/Gates
0-01-184
0-05-005 - CNE Security Operations
0-05-055 - CNE Control (for other users to contact Security)
0-05-075 - CNE Technical Services
0-05-085 - Parking
0-05-086
0-05-105
0-05-125 - Ricoh Security
0-05-128
0-05-135 - Direct Energy Building
0-09-170 - Horse Palace

And these on the MBC UHF System (which has been updated with the proper LCNs and frequencies as of yesterday - check it out)

0-04-020 (Shuttle Busses)
0-09-020 (Gates)
0-05-020 (Administration)
0-10-021
0-10-020 (Media Office)
0-07-020 (Bandshell)
0-08-020 (Kids Area)
0-06-021
0-06-020 (Talkk of Ring Toss and Corndogs...possible Merchant/Vendor Services?)
The above were confirmed by listening at about 09:30 and hearing the "all vehicles must get bent" announcement. There might be more in use, but not that they're doing announcements on.

I also managed to snag a conventional frequency of 461.2375 PL82.5 as being used by Group 4 for overnight security of the gates and inside.

Heck Im gonna go just to see the T-38 Talon...what a sight that will be.

Any words from others who have attended with a scanner ?
I know from exp , that keeping the scanner hiden is my #1 priority..however id like to use the Signal Stalker , just to see what else is around.

I have some time off work around the time of the CNE and my son loves the snowbirds , as I do!

Thx for the Link to Snowbirds Freqs

Is the CNE a low power system ? I can't get any hits from here in 31 div, not even with my discone.

As for the CIAS, it does seem to be kinda repetative every year, F16, CF18, aerobatics and some oldie planes of yesteryear. Last year there were the F22s but no mention of them this year unless it's last minute. A recent thread in the Western forum said there were some Tornados at CFB Cold Lake, it would be cool to see them around here. In 1997 there was the static display at the old Canadian Airlines hanger. There was an A10, a Harrier (2 IIRC) and Apache type helo (looked like a smaller version of it) quite a few other planes and even a mini boot camp for the little kiddies ! Actually, the A10 was not part of the airshow, but they did have to tow it out of the crowd and onto the tarmac area so it could take off. They towed right through the crowd ! Anyone who wasn't paying attention almost got a wing in the back of the head !!!

Yes, the system is low power.

I'm up near Dufferin and Bloor right now and it's coming in pretty scratchy.

Who cares if you have a scanner with you? What are they going to do, look at you strange?

LOL I have no idea...when I do take the Pro97 with me outside , I try and be very discreet !

Ill wear a light jacket with the scanner on my belt , in the back...so no one can see the radio...I then run a single Ear Piece inside my shirt to my right ear.

So I just look like any other person listening to an Ipod :)

Yeah, it's a much better show when you have a scanner going.

Really? When I go to the CNE airshow, I always bring extra scanners to hand out. The folks love 'em and I always get lots of appreciative comments when the show ends. The ones I hold on to are always cranked - everyone wants to hear what the pilots have to say.

however id like to use the Signal Stalker , just to see what else is around.
What do you expect to pick up over all the RF soup down there?

422.5 is broadcasting LCN 5 idle bursts, not LCN 19. It's part of a much smaller system.

5 - 422.5125
6 - 422.6125
7 - 422.2875
8 - 422.3875
9 - 422.4875
10- 422.5875
11- 422.2375
12- 422.3375
13- 422.4375
14- 422.5375
15- 422.6375
16- 422.2000
