What does this do? what are the benefits (if any) and should I install one on my PRO-96?
Can I buy one, or do I have to make one?

I have search the forums, but all I find is what pin to connect it to

Thanks in advance

If you did get the urge to tap the PRO-96 though, it (along with some other RS models using TP4) is one of the easiest to tap.

I went to that site. Found this page for Ordering
http://www.discriminator.nl/order/index-en.html
There's a 4 level interface for EUR 6.00 or $8.82 US.
I'm not interested in digging out my old board etching kit and sourcing parts right now so the price was appealing.
I clicked on BUY and the price jumped to a whopping 63.50 EUR or $93.33 US with shipping. Arg, guess the 6 EUR is just for shipping. Way over priced.

I would settle for soldering a kit together if the price is right.

Depending on what you want to do, you really don't need a data slicer for most of the newer apps. If you have a tap installed on your radio, all you need is a feed into the sound card on your pc. But, there will still be some legacy apps and specialized stuff that will need a slicer.
