Halton Speed Trap

Hi Everyone,

I drove past a speed trap in Georgetown on the weekend and saw the officer with the laser radio to the chase cars, but I didn't hear that call over the Halton trunk system. I did hear the chase cars calling in the traffic stops though. I was expecting a TAC channel hit or something, but got nothing. Any ideas on what the officers were using to communicate within the speed trap team?

I'm using a BCD398T, and I was on ID Search at the time.

I'm suprised that you did not "catch" them on Special 1 , 2 or 3 .
I'm not sure, I have to check with a friend who lives in Milton as to what he has heard.

I dont know Halton but was probably a simplex type channel they were using or something not on the regular Fleetnet

Halton Region uses edacs. Georgetown is in Halton Region.

Halton uses their computers alot with all everyday PD use.

Found a 10-86 (radar) on EVENTS 01 last night. I must have had it lockout previously .

The talkgroups listed in the database for Halton are kind of a guideline...I've heard all sorts of things on all sorts of talkgroups on that system...sometimes on the patches and sometimes, as you found out, on the EVENTS talkgroups.

Halton's EDACS system is the radio equivalent of the Wild West.
