Does anyone know the frequencies for the Kitchener P.D. I have looked in the database and find only the Waterloo P.D freq.
I am using a pro 2006 and am picking up what I believe is K.P.D in the 868 Mhz band, whit multiple frequencies. Thanks in advance for your help.

All of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge's police, fire and city services are all on the Waterloo Regional EDACS Trunk. You can find more information about the system from here http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=1783. Unfortunately the Pro 2006 as good as it was will not properly track the system. In order to be able to track and follow the conversations and know who is talking you will need a Trunktracking radio, check out the Wiki page where there is more information about the different Trunktracking radios available.

As already stated youll need a TRUNKING scanner (EDACS) in order to monitor them
Kitchener has a couple TalkGroup ID's

17 00-021 Division 1 Kitchener
39 00-047 Police - Detectives Div 1 Kitchener
Hopefully they are analog not AEGIS.

With the Pro-2006 all youll be able to do is program in all the frequencies,
868.32500 868.52500 868.73750 ....... etc etc etc
and scan them.. but you wont be able to HOLD on Kitchener only it will give you everything thats active.

Lock out the channel that is all continuous data/noise.

Thanks, in looking at the link for K.P.D. I did have all of their frequencies except one, and I have about 10 more that I am not sure who they are. I do know they are not from Waterloo. Good thing is they are analog, there is the computer delay at the end of the conversation but when scanning resumes, I can usually pick up the remainder of the convesation. Thanks.

your welcome good luck scanning

if you get too annoyed with the computer bleeps, think about saving up and get an EDACS trunking scanner in the future
but for now you should be okay just listen to it all and enjoy

Thanks, in looking at the link for K.P.D.

KPD hasn't existed in a long, long, long time so you won't find a link for them.

Waterloo Regional Police Service has done the policing for the City of Kitchener since 1973.

Division 1 handles the City of Kitchener.

You will need to program in the Region of Waterloo's EDACS trunking system and listen specifically to the Division 1 talkgroups.

Most of the tg's on the WPS trunk are analog including those two listed above. There are a few "secure" talkgroups that are Aegis but they are used for detective work and the ERU.

How about you list the 10 unknown frequencies here and I will try to help you as to who they are or if they are even in service anymore.

I have 6 freq left over. I have heard all of them in action but who they are I don't know. Some are 866 and some are 867. I thought they were in the 868 range, my error which would mean they are not W.P.D. Anyway I don't know who they are.
Thanks everyone for all your help.

did not realize peel went that far..
Depending on atmospheric conditions such signals can go quite far, even at 800 MHz. Earlier this month it wasn't unusual to receive the Peel Trunk system in K/W.

Thanks for all the info guys, I' ll have to keep scaning the 866 to 869 band, sound interesting to know that I can pickup Halton and Peel from London. I do believe atmospheric conditions played a big part in that reception as mrweather sugested, but sure is nice to know what I'm picking up and how far away they are. Thanks again.

I can receive all 3 Halton sites from my house with just the ducky antenna but I live close to the top on Manheim Hill. :)
