Hey all. I have a friend of a friend who was doing some work inside the Cornwall Police comm. center. He knew that CP had been unmonitorable for the last few months, but no one had mentioned what they were using... Anyway, he saw a big banner hanging over the room that said "Cornwall Community Police - P-25 Digital Radio System"... He heard them mentioning things like "yeah, in emergency it automatically switches to OPSxx"...

If they are APCO digital, has anyone with a digital scanner been able to catch them? Or are ALL of their channels encrypted?

They are VHF and encrypted. If I'm not mistaken, they chose EFJ as an equipment provider. I'm not sure what flavour of encryption they are using, but either way it's not possible to listen with any kind of scanner.
