Well,we know they have gone digital, and supposedly encrypted.

Anyone know what kind of encryption ? Can we monitor it ? I'm heading up that way for a drive tommorow, and would like to know if it can be monitored.

Of course it can be monitored. All you need is a module with the right algorithm and loaded with the correct key.

Oh, really?

So, uh, what the heck does that mean?

It means you'll need a suitable transceiver, with encryption capability, a keyloader and the correct encyption key (a really big number - bazzilion's of choices to sift through)

Not an evening project...

Hard to say without having access to one of their radios.

Could be ADP, AES, DES-OFB, etc, etc.

Kind of a moot point though.

No matter what algorithm they're using, we still can't listen.
