Smile Bmr techs

I was just wondering here if anyone knows the answer to this.

Do the BMR TECH GUY'S use portables when they are out of their vehicle and at a site where ever they happen to be at.

If they do use portable radio's. Do their portables work just like they do for the: OPP, MNR, EMS & MTO ENFORCEMENT, by using a repeater. Or would they just have a normal portable radio, which does DIGITAL and ANALOG (for which ever talkgroup they happen to be using in digital or analog mode).

And would anyone know the frequency(ies) of their portables (if they have a freq for their portable radio). Let me know.

Also just curious here, if anyone would have a picture of the type of truck or vehicle they drive and what it looks like (like if it says something on the truck or type of antenna(es) on the roof). So I will know what it looks like everytime I happen to see one. Let me know.

I will be waiting for any replies to these 4 questions I just asked. Thanks.

Coolguy

BMR techs have mobiles and portables however most do not have mobile repeaters.

As for vehicles, most drive F250 pickup trucks or vans.

I have only heard them once using the mobile repeaters after they were working on the Ponty Pool. They stopped for food at the Fifth Wheel and the one tech stated he was at the counter and doubled checked what he was ordering. None of the VR repeater freqs came up on the scan, so I assumed that BMR had another freq on the go repeating to TG 16.

I heard them testing on the 115/35 and 401 area. Looking into some OPP complaints about reception issues and portable interference issues. All other times I heard them, they were always traveling, to and from towers, but the first and only using the VR's.
