Question 5 Whiskey units

Hi, Happy post Canada day to all.

What do OPP units referred to as 5 Whiskey do?
They hang out on various talkgroups here in the gta.
I think 5tango do trucks (not to be confused with MTO Enforcement tango units) as wll as Alpha.

TIA

Hi Ian, I typed in 5Whiskey before I posted the question and it took me to this thread.
Other than saying this : Whiskey 00/GTR Highway Rangers/GTR HQ
There was no info. Do they deal with trucks?
I hear them on pretty much every GTA Tower & T/G but seem to be heard most often on Aurora 8656.

5W units are the OPP's Highway Rangers that look after the HTA enforcement on the 400 series and other provincial maintained highways (ie 7). They tend to stick to HTA enforcement and accident investigations.

5T units are GTA HQ units from Aurora. They are usually executive officers and special units that can do anything and all things within the district.
