I'll have my feed dedicated to the air show this coming Sunday. Although it's on both Saturday and Sunday, I'll be at the show on Saturday.

I have CFB Trenton frequencies readily available and I will have both the VHF air band and UHF MilAir band both on search the whole time, so I should be able to have a good listening post.

Being about 20kms from the base and high enough up with almost line of site for Air comms. I'm in a prime location for picking up comms.

I hope all will enjoy the feed as much as I'll enjoy being there on Saturday.

Thanks For the Info

I would love to see this.
Where would the best place to watch this be from?
I will head down Sunday morning.

For some confirmed frequencies that I logged from the airshow in St. Thomas Ont. on the 19,20, and 21 of June 09, go to the Military forum and to the thread "confirmed military freq. heard".
It would be great if you posted your freq. that you log, after the airshow.

Thanks,
Moonbounce

I'll be there!

Heard the Hornet flight from Bagotville chatting on discrete 323.300 earlier this year at Hamilton, too.

Head some mention last nite on 123.1 of the base it's been reported as a "show hold" frequency so I don't know much about what was going on.

I'll be keeping a close ear tonight now that I'm home for any different frequencies heard.

I'll try my best to keep a log, guess I'll have to have notepad ready in the blackberry :p

Maybe if I get a chance to sit I'll be able to give live updates

again, the radio will be offline on Saturday because it'll be with me. but on sunday I will be at home and will have the feed tuned in.

Thanks

I couldn't tell which one would be the airboss. How do you tell?

But yeah I did hear activity on that frequency along with a few others. Didn't seem like I found any other new ones though. I should be able to get a better search on tomorrow when I'm more organized and scanning from home. Was too busy playing with the radio and cellphone at the same time. Heh. had to give my camera to my friend so she could take most of the pics and vids. Although I was doing the same with the phone :p

Btw, here's a pic of the radio controls inside a CC-150 Polaris Airbus.

Radio is on 121.9/268.00 it also has 128.635/363.000 on the readout as well.

There's also a HF Rig in there somewhere to. In which case the pilot or whomever was giving the tour of the cockpit described it much like CB radio. LOL which I found funny.

Here's a few pics taken from my BlackBerry, sorry they're not the greatest quality, but the ones from my camera are too big to upload here.

I just spent a few minutes scanning the low airband until I found the one that "Airboss" kept being called on :p

You're right, though, Ground, Tower and Terminal were all quite active - could have stayed on top of the show just as easily with those. Also the base ops channels were pretty active and interesting.

I think the pilot's analogy was more-or-less correct about the HF. Back in the day on the older aircraft, the pilot could select what frequency he wanted (even if it was outside of the HF band range). Story goes an old Air Canada DC-8 pilot by the name of Stu Gamble used to call up truckers on Channel 19 and chat during the red-eyes over the praries!

A few piccy's! OPP had their Mobile 1 in the area too (reasons unknown to me, because the traffic marshalling was below standard!)

Oh wow, I am so jealous of your pics. Great job on them.

Btw, I think OPP were on 2TAC03 for the event also.

And that command centre. I didn't see that around at all. Very impressive. Looks like a revamped fire truck converted into an OPP command post.

Love the shot of the air refueling as well.
