I believe this is the one that shows it's licensed in Pembroke Ontario. L'isle Aux-Allumettes is just across the Ottawa River, which is in Quebec.

142.980000 138.990000 PEMBROKE, ON HYDRO-QUEBEC PLANS ET NORMES TELECOMMUNICATIONS

You say this is Site 3, the database here shows it as Site 4
Pembroke may be the site location but Allumette Island (Ile des Allumettes on my map) is a better name for the service area; or nearby Chapeau, but I'd settle for the larger of the two

Site 2 appears to be Bryson which is a neighbour of this one, and a number of others. There does not seem to be a Site 1 reported by any other sites. Maybe Site 1 is not used for some reason (Ont. Prov. system doesn't have any), reserved maybe?

You'll notice if you do a search on TAFL with HYDRO-QUEBEC PLANS ET NORMES TELECOMMUNICATIONS that they're pretty well all over the frequency board.

140's 400's 900's an even into the HF band I noticed too. What would those be?

The 850MHz frequencies belong to a system in the Montreal area (SysID 4D08, listed in the RR database). The 400Mhz frequencies look to be links or telemetry e.g. 413.8500/418.8500. I've listened on 418.8500 and heard a carrier with modulation that sounds like noise, which could be data; but no voice.

I heard that the 800Mhz system was tied in with the VHF system. There were some common talkgroups that would allow communications between the two systems.

Hello,

I was up near Montreal last week and was able to get some more information which I submitted.

I was surprised to be able to hear three sites while in Burlington, VT. I was using the 3 element 2 Meter band portion of an Arrow portable satellite antenna. After alittle adjustment in position I was able to get site 22 and site 28 very good at around 85%. Site 46 is farther away so it only came in fair.

I noticed the Granby Main talkgroup was very active and is carried on both sites 22 and 28. The St Hyacinthe Main talkgroup was also active on site 46. The St. Jean Main talkgroup was active on site 28. Northern NY and NW VT was having some bad thunderstorms during this period so possibly that is why the sites were on almost constantly.

I see someone already submitted the same voice channel that I received on site 22 so it appears someone else was also monitoring.

Looks like you've been busy Eric. I've been doing a bit of early-morning
DX chasing; pretty much exhausted what can be gathered local to me
except for enhanced conditions, so it's good to have some input further
east.

Huntingdon (actually I had the spelling right the first time..) has VHF
(4E2A) and 800MHz (4D08) at the same site; may be a "gateway"
between two zones.
