Need help federal signal corporation pa300

I am not sure if it done something when it was hooked up but it worked perfectly at first the only thing i can think of that was wrong was they had the two radio wires and bot high and low output wire all hooked up. He said it get hot and stopped working so it was unhooked and given to me. i have tried to hook it up correct and know the back lighting or nothing comes on it dont sound the sirens either and when ever i hook the wires up the power wire its self i have comming from the ground gets hot... Any ideas or fixes... PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds like its an internal short heating up the unit. No user replaceable parts
and FSC does not publish or include any internal schematics.
Send to Federal Signal for repair or call the support phone for alternatives.

You smoked the output transformer and transistor by hooking it up wrong. Time to buy a new one as its cheaper to find a used one and hook it up the right way than to pay for a repair.
