I usually launch into a profanity laced tirade, it doesn't do a thing other than make me feel better :-)
Unfortunately, none of those fix the problem, violations of the do not call list.

I switched to Vonage in early 2004 and I can count the number of telespams I've received on one hand and that's with all 3 of my lines combined.
Prior to that, I had a published phone number through the local phone cartel, (then) Bellsouth who would make the number available to anyone who wanted to call and then charge a fee if I had a problem with that.

While the auto dialers will seemingly randomly dial a number, I do believe they actually require a call list of some kind or a range of numbers to dial and if nobody sells them a list or range of valid numbers then I think you'll be about as happy as I have been.

Unfortunately Vonage doesn't offer a call block feature and they've become just as bad with the phone cartels with billing and watering down features that used to kick butt. However you can align your account with a google voice account through call forwarding or simulring. Google voice offers a call block list. So in essence, your calls will be filtered into an error message if they call your phone line and it's forwarded to google voice. It may ring once or half ring, but who can pick up the phone that quick anyway?

I agree, the regulation has been absolutely worthless but don't forget who really owns this country.

We, the people, are supposed to "own" the country. But, we the people have a Federal agency that purports to "protect consumers", and is not a law enforcement agency, and is completely incapable of protecting consumers from unwanted intrusions via telephone lines, or enforcing any laws. Thus, this person wants to take the unenforceable law into his own hands and protect, at least, his own individual rights...by any means.
