I am just wondering if anyone on here would have or know the frequency that the CPR Police use. I used to have it. But I don't anymore. I am pretty sure the freq was 159.???. But can't remember. If anyone knows it. I would appreciate it. Because I would like to put it in my scanner and have it in there when the CPR Holiday Train comes in here to Chapleau next month (December). Because just incase they do some talking on their own channel.

So I will be waiting for any replies to this post. Thanks.

Looks like Leeds & Grenville are going to have a new digital dispatch system.

I came across this article in the Brockville recorder and times...

The United counties comittee accepteda presentation for the system from an engineer. One of the main issues was the inoperability to communicate from EMS to police to fire. Be interesting to see how this is going to be implemented.

Its going to cost 6 million dollars to overhaul the current system.

The engineer also noted that two radio frequencies are currently available from the CRTC (industry canada) for a narrow-band voice channel system elements he recommends include a narrow-band voice channel.

And for those wondering about encryption. The engineer states "For example, there's been no request for an expensive encrypted service common with police communications", he said.

Here is the Brockville newspaper article link...
Its been happening for about three days so far. Anyone else see that? My display is shot, so I locked out the channel and then downloaded the info from my scanner into ARC96 and its the only channel that is locked out from the two sites I am listening to. I wonder why they would be using that tg to send out pages?

ok i'll try to explain the best i can... I just bought a house in the villages on the side of the treatment plant over here, i am trying to pcik up Selfridge AfB. Before at my old place on meadowbrook, I could pick up the ATIS but it was little staticy.. I moved closer and now i can't even pick up the ATIS at all, nothing but static, tried even with the ATT on, still nothing. It appears all Military freq are null, My setup is i have my discone setup just above the roof top, connected into a Nexxtech amp, I have tried swapping out amp and straight feeding in, but results are still the same. As for AM freq's it has improved greatly for cleveland artc and as well metro, i actually have to have to have the ATT on in order to get a clear reception. Just wondering what could be causing not too pick up selfridge. I was using the ATIS as a guide point to picking up selfridge. I was further away and was able to pick it up, now i move closer and get nothing.. I am using a BC 898t as for the coax for antenna i have LMR-400, as far as i could tell all connections are good, and coax has no splits or frays. On my pro-2096 i can pick macomb county's public saftey system no probs even sarnia fleetnet tower i can pick up. So just wondering if anyone else has any options i can try

In the midst of a Uniden scanner reprogramming, I decided to add GO Transit to my radios. What the heck...why not...the P25 audio is oh so calming! :)

I programmed it via ARC996 and the system type that I selected was "Motorola Type 2 / P25". Each site is configured as "Motorola APCO25". Status bit is on, the end code is set to "yes", and the Mot Dig End code is set to "Ignore". When I transferred the programming to the scanner, I realized that if I held on the control channel, I wasn't getting any sound from it. It's also not picking up any talkgroups.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Sure enough, I was picking up site 17 (Essex). So I got to searching a little and holy smokes the sites are pouring in tonight. First pass thru I was able to pull in:

142.2600 - 21 Woodstock
142.3200 - 04 Listowel
142.2450 - 22 Aylmer
142.2300 - 14 Wallaceburg (New site!)
143.1450 - 33 Stratford
143.0700 - 36 Wingham
142.9650 - 25 Goderich
142.9050 - 17 Essex
142.7100 - 31 Sarnia
142.6650 - 18 Byron
142.6350 - 19 Wardsville
142.5900 - 27 Ipperwash
142.5150 - 16 Chatham

Haven't tried any other bands yet, but I've notice a fair increase in US traffic in the 150mhz range.

Current control channel is 142.2300, Trunk88 reports the Alternate as 141.7350. Been sitting on it for about 10 minutes now and haven't seen squat for activity on it other than a few rejected affiliations

I wouldn't expect this to happen for free so I have set asside a few hours pay.
Please email me at jgayder at cogeco dot com if you have a couple or three spare hours to help out.
It seems that this talkgroup appears and then dissapears for what seems like months on end. I know that the actual EMS units would have to be in a location that they would be able to affiliate with the tower but on a daily basis these units do go to Hamilton area hospitals.

I monitor this tower on my scanner & using T88 and would love to know why this talkgroup is not on Charlton more consistenly.
