Haven't been able to gather much information about this call as my location downtown is preventing me from getting the Langdon Fire channel.

I know Langdon is on scene of a large tanker full of diesel on fire and that crews from 59 and 72 are on scene.

Tender 25 from Calgary was called out for mutual aid. Once on scene, Tender 25 called into dispatch wanting an immediate call from South Chief and mentioned that due to liability he was staying away from the scene and not approaching. His voice really did sound like he was concerned with how things were being handled and wasn't getting as close as other crews. (but that is simply my interpretation)

Anyone closer have any other info?

Hi,

I am new to radioreference and the world of scanning! I have been going online and learning as much as I can in regards to scanning, and I would like to purchase a scanner for myself! My only question is that I live in British Columbia and am curious whether I need to purchase a trunking and digital scanner or whether I can still get away with regular analog scanners? I would like to use the scanner to monitor Law Enforcement, and Emergency services but I am just unsure whether I need the digital and trunking systems! I would like to save some money if I can, and so if a digital and trunking system is not needed then that would be great!

Your comments are appreciated!
