Hi Sofa King and others.Today Weds 4/29/09 around 1:30PM EDT I was hearing activity on 167.6375 for just about a 60 seconds.Had the 996T set up to decode if it was analog or P-25.All I heard was the Digital sound.I will listen and see what I hear. Also today here in Indianapolis was hearing 167.825 and the Uniden 996T was showing that it was ENC Encipted. Will post here later after I hear radio traffic and can ID the users. Thanks Phil,Best Requards from Indianapolis,IN Tim DeLong W9NES

What you probably heard was P25 encrypted. What have you heard on 167.6375 before today? Analog, P25?

Squad 10, I heard 167.825 and it was encrypted.Uniden 996T indicator(ENC) was on. 167.6375 was P-25 and had to re set the freq to Digital.Did not hear any voice traffic on 167.6375.

Just curious if 167.6375 has been in use in your area during the past (years) and if you are hearing P25on it was new to you.

I'm in Chicago and only the nationwide channels (D group) have gone digital. The other six groups are still analog. Wondering if the analog to digital transistion is getting closer to my area.

In Chicago 167.6375 is repeater output C5.

Good morning, Tom. Glad to see you are logging some new ones. Without NAC or PL it will be harder to tell who is using those. That 167.8250 is an interesting freq. Any DOE around you?

Keep logging...and get a scanner that decodes NACs!

Phil

If you get the NAC we can help narrow things down.
Maybe someone else in the Area can plug them in for us/you

I'm going with 167.6375 you will find either $167 or $293
with $167 being the FBI and the $293 for same agency, but for
Interop or US Marshal sharing.

As for the 167.8250, this was a DOE [Long Island]f or years, but has become a shared channel of recent with FBI in NH [Analog], also reports of this being a SS [Kilo] but never got anything

Sorry "Tim". I knew that. I just slipped on my typing...or maybe I was thinking of the guitar player.
