Default FBI Air to Air

For as long as I can remember, Chicago FBI fixed wing surveillance aircraft have used 120.425 for air to air communication between planes, and still do. Both AM and FM have been used.

What aircraft frequency or frequencies have you heard them use in the past and recently?

Thanks ecps92.

Have you heard FBI traffic on all 3 freqs.?

I've monitored Tac 2 & 3 as long as Tac 1 and never heard them used. Tac-1 traffic has always been sparse.

Back in the 80's and 90's they were used quite frequently and my job at the time allowed me to listen from work [ actually was a requirement ]
and all 3 were used from time-time.

Default FBI Air to Air

Those frequencies were posted on the Totse Website under the "Frequency Spectrum 108- 136 MHz" database dated 10/30/2001.

Yup. They normally use AM, but I have heard FM too. That's why I keep both AM and FM programmed.

I would urge you to spend a few weeks, searching:

138-144, 148-150.8, 162-174, 406-420 Mhz
and at the end of each week, post what you find

Rule #1 - stay away from posting [except to close associates/friends]
any On-going/Active at the time surv ops. Wait a week and/or until it hit the papers !

Make note of the PL, DPL, P25 NAC and/or if the P25 is Enc
Call signs etc.

welcome to the world of Federal Monitoring

Hint: Boston FBI did [never home anymore at that time] a ROLL CALL of all the RA's between 8a-10a weekdays

10-10 meant encryption.

Maybe 30-30 means triple encryption!

Odd NO NAC when P25??

I've caught them using [in the past 8 mo's]
$001, $301, Analog No PL

and someone reported $167 during the Superbowl

Back in the Analog Days, even tho they were RX of No PL
they still transmitted the Agency PL

103.5 = Secret Service
100.0 = US Customs
