Default 163.5625 ???

Hi group, I live in Dyer County, TN. I have been hearing traffic on 163.5625(167.9PL). The traffic sounds like it might be security guards (gate checks, etc.). Does anyone have any info. on this???

Thanks...........

I just looked on Google Maps and noticed you're not too far from Memphis. I bet you're hearing the security for the FBI office in Memphis. That's an FBI freq and tone and they may need security depending on the size of the facility.

FBI Memphis
Suite 3000, Eagle Crest Bldg.
225 North Humphreys Blvd.
Memphis, Tennessee 38120-2107
memphis.fbi.gov
(901) 747-4300

If you make it into Memphis anytime soon, you could try to verify that. Something else to consider, if you are able to clearly hear that repeater, definately search for other analog signals w/ 167.9 PL in the 163, 167, and 170 MHz ranges and also P25 if you are able... You may be able to hear some of their citywide repeaters -- they can be quite powerful. In Oklahoma, I used to be able to pick them up from many miles out.
