Cool The D.C. Mystery System

I touched on this a while back on a state thread, the system freqs are: 408.2250, 408.2750, 408.4625, 408.5250, 408.5375, 408.6250, 409.0500, 417.2750, 417.4625, 417.5250 and possibly others, the signal resembles white noise or des encryption, but it is constant on all channels like control channels, does anyone have a clue as to what this is and who is using it?

white noise you say?

lol.

You will NOT be breaking that anytime soon....

Sometimes an 'open carrier with just static' isn't what you think it is... They like to keep it that way.

Could very well just be DES-XL (although you'd think they'd be running OFB or haystack) if it's an analog TRS.

Steady white noise on all frequencies. Possibly repeater input/output pairs?

Very interesting, this system has been up for around two years near D.C., originally thought it was DARPA, but if you are picking up the colorado system near colorado springs it might be the air force Global Strike Command temporarily at Bolling AFB. Somone else had suggested that it was some secret white house system....not sure.

Do a search for constant carrier systems, they transmit white noise all of the time, thus whomever is listening has no clue when the system is being used.

I can't remeber when, but i had read around here in a posting that sometimes systems are completely whited out like that so you don't know when they are being used, as stated above,
If i were to guess what it could be, this is what i would guess :

1. Secret White house system
2. DOE
3. Secret Service
4. CIA????
