If you check the FCC ULS you can see that Arkansas State Forestry is licensed for - 169.90 - 171.525 - 171.575 - 172.275 - 172.375 - 80 mobiles at 60 watts each.

I think that 169.90 is the regional USFS fire ground channel - mobiles only.

I am not sure what the other channels are for. Possibly for internal use or possible for coodination with the feds.

I think all of these channels (except 169.90) are shared nationwide between the feds and state forestry units.

None of the freqs show up in the Arkansas Forestry listings in the Radio Reference database.

Thanks Tom - lots of great info there

I also noticed in the FCC ULS that Missouri has - 168.125 168.15 168.725 168.75 170.425 170.575 172.225 (and 172.375 for MO and MO3) - the first 4 are the NF in MO I think - not sure on the rest - none are listed under MO Conservation at Radio Ref

There is all sorts of strange freqs out there to be discovered.

Go here

License Search

then chose Advanced License Search on the left - then click Michigan - then try 170.425 170.475 170.575 171.425 171.475 171.575 172.225 172.275 172.375

I know that 172.275 will give a hit for Michigan

I can confirm that 171.425 was used at the 2010 Roscommon, MI Forest Fire. Aircraft to ground crews with fire updates.
