Makes me wonder if you heard my buddy talking on 165.2875 during the late 1970s. His POD was Rome, GA, he was ATF RAC at the time. His olive green colored G-car had a Motorola Motrac with (frequency inversion) VPU option. Told me he never turned on the VPU.
